About me
I am a Person-Centred counsellor and clinical supervisor. I offer city centre-based face-to-face sessions and 'walk and talk' outdoors counselling. I work part-time as a Lecturer in Counselling. I am a founder of Space to Breathe Collective a not for profit wellness cooperative.
I've had counselling and it changed my world. I used to hate myself, feel anxious constantly and be nervous around other people. Now, I like myself, enjoy spending time with people and experience moments of peace. I think counselling can work for everyone - if we put the work in. And we can all benefit from counselling because rubbish things happen to us all.
I've worked with young people (12+) and adults in person, online and on the phone.
I've counselled people with depression and anxiety, people who self-harm and have thoughts of suicide, people with work issues, issues with friends, relationships or family, people with eating issues, people who have experienced loss and people who have experienced physical, emotional, sexual and domestic abuse.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have an MA in Person-Centred and Experiential Counselling and Psychotherapy (distinction) - specialising in working with children and young people from Nottingham University.
I have a Diploma in Clinical Supervision from Sherwood Institute in Nottingham.
I worked for 12 years as an online and telephone counsellor and supervisor at ChildLine.
I have worked as a counsellor for a domestic abuse charity working with children, a young people's charity (16-24), a charity working with male survivors of sexual abuse, and students at Leicester University and supervised counsellors at a charity working with female survivors of sexual abuse.
On Wednesdays and Thursdays, I work in private practice in Leicester City Centre.
I work part-time at Leicester College as a Lecturer in Counselling, teaching adults on levels 3, 4 & 5.
