About me

I'm a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and Transactional Analysis Practitioner with extensive experience in working with a wide variety of people suffering with issues such as anxiety, depression, bereavement, relationship problems, abuse, anger and addictions, trauma and stress.

Sometimes we don’t realise we are in trouble or that we are strong when we could be happy. You may feel under-supported, isolated or traumatised; lonely, very ill without a diagnosis; trapped by addictive behaviour or simply not able to talk openly with family or friends about your lived experience of harm or abuse.

You may feel like life is unfair, feeling shame, sad or confused. I invite you to come and talk about it.

How would it feel, after all, to understand the reasons for what has happened; to practice asking for what you need and to get to some kind of solution.

I offer a free 20 minute introductory call which you can easily book here.

Alternatively, if you have any questions or would like to book a session, please call me on 07434 599203 or send me an email.

Ellie, Counsellor and Transactional Analysis Practitioner.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

I work to Carl Rogers' 3 Qualities for good counselling/mentoring:  Congruence (I will be my genuine and real self);  Unconditional Positive Regard, (this means accepting of you and caring about you no matter what you feel about yourself and how you feel about others' view of you); Empathic Understanding, (I keep checking in with you to make sure I accurately grasp what has happened or is happening in your world, as you see it).

It may be the first time you reflect and talk on 'how things got to this.'

We fall in step with each other for a little while so you can de-pressure; look in from outside the situation.   I offer consistent and predictable in an unpredictable, sometimes difficult world.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
