About me

Hi, I’m Chloë, and I support people with a wide range of issues, and specialise in loss and grief, with a particular interest in living and ambiguous loss. Are you are grieving someone who is still alive but psychologically or physically absent? Or do you feel in limbo? Perhaps you are experiencing a challenging life transition and feeling overwhelmed. Together, we will explore the reasons that bring you to therapy and work through any stuckness to find clarity and a new way forward.

I'm an experienced and professional trauma-informed MBACP Counsellor and EFT Tapping Practitioner. I provide non-judgemental and confidential single session, short-term or long-term therapy to adults (18+). My appointments are offered in-person in a calm and secure space, or by telephone/online wherever you are in the UK.

Through warm connection and compassionate understanding, I will sensitively guide you safely through change and help you navigate uncertainty and discomfort, bringing hope for a different future. You will feel validated and heard, and gain new personal insights and perspective on your situation. In learning how to regulate your emotions, you’ll develop robust coping skills and strategies, and a refreshed sense of control over your life.

Training, qualifications & experience

I’ve been supporting people for over 20 years with emotional difficulties, in various capacities through local and national charities and organisations (including NHS) and effectively in private practice. My work as an Integrative Counsellor began in 2010 and I trained as an EFT Practitioner in 2018.

Blending elements from a breadth of psychotherapeutic theories and approaches to suit your individual needs, I also draw on knowledge and experience from in-depth studies such as in nutrition, mental health, NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), coaching and energy psychology. I may work with your present issues and also invite you to explore your past. You may have something very specific you wish to focus on – all is welcome.

I can use a variety techniques and exercises to help you convey how you are feeling, and listen empathically with curiosity and gentle questioning. I use aspects of evidence-based therapies such as ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and SFT (Solution Focused Therapy) and can work with goals and explore homework options if desired. With an art degree, I can also work creatively if expressing yourself in this way would be helpful to you.

Some of my training includes:

  • Therapeutic Counselling - Level 5 Diploma (Distinction)
  • Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Advanced Practitioner - Level 3 Accredited training
  • Single Session Therapy (SST) with Windy Dryden
  • Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) - Level 2 Accredited training
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) training
  • Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) Certificate
  • NLP Life Coach Certificate

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

Counselling and EFT Tapping can be integrated together in sessions or offered separately. I send you a free Counselling or EFT Tapping Information Pack upon booking to help guide you through the process. If you are interested in Single Session Therapy, I email you a Pre-Session Questionnaire to complete.

In 2015, I founded Ambiguous Loss UK and also offer training, workshops, talks and support groups. I developed my own therapeutic model for working with ambiguous loss, which informs my practice in this niche area. It’s a topic I’m especially passionate about.

I’m committed to social justice and my clients are put central to my work. As a registered member of the BACP, I abide by their ethical standards and framework. I’m covered by professional indemnity and public liability insurance, and hold a current Enhanced DBS certificate.

You will find more information on my comprehensive personal website, but please do get in touch if you have any questions. You are welcome to book a free 20 minute telephone consultation to find out what it is like to work with me.
