About me
To be truly seen and heard can hold profound power within your self - development journey and how you may be feeling right now is completely individual to you. That is where integrative therapy could help. All integrative therapy means is it allows me to pull upon different psychological theories to help my clients in a way that is individual to them.
As human beings we all experience things such as anxiety, grief, trauma and so forth. These experiences, feelings and emotions can often become all too consuming and this is completely normal. If today is the day you may be making the first step in reaching out - this is amazing. I offer a warm, calming, non judgemental and confidential face to face space to explore any difficulties you may be currently experiencing. Online and telephone therapy is also available.
My niche areas/areas of interest/expertise are that I can offer over ten years of lived experienced within chronic pain/ hidden disabilities. This, however, does not make me an expert of how to manage your pain, but rather empathise from that of a deeper level. Furthermore, I will guide you through and help you explore with what works best for YOUR individual experience of pain. I work closely with mind and body work and somatic responses.
Training, qualifications & experience
I trained at RHACC for over three years. During this time the qualifications I gained -
* Level 2 certificate in Counselling Skills
* Level 3 certificate in Counselling studies
* Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
During my training I carried out my clinical hours within the NHS (Solution Focused Therapy) and following on from this I worked at Phoenix Counselling and Psychotherapy Agency supplying F2F integrative sessions to clients with a varied range of needs.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
