About me

My name is Charlotte and I am a qualified Person-Centered therapist from a dual-heritage and working-class background. I will be with you as you explore whatever is important to you in a non-judgmental, safe and empathic space. I work from a beautiful and peaceful location surrounded by nature, or alternatively I can offer online or telephone sessions.

I work from a non-pathologising and trauma-informed perspective, meaning our therapeutic work together would be exploring ‘what happened to you?’ rather than ‘what is wrong with you?’. I believe that our lived experiences shape our mental health, and that together we can safely work through this with patience, understanding, and validation.

I have many years experience working with adults and children aged 11+. I have interest in working with clients around complex family dynamics, complex childhood experiences, and estrangement. I am also an LGBTQI+-friendly practitioner and person.

Therapy is about a relationship created between myself and my client that is empowering, accepting, safe, and confidential; within the safety of this relationship clients are able to bring any aspect of their lives to examine and process. It is my hope and goal that sessions help clients to find more peace, acceptance, and contentment in their lives.

Please feel free to send me an email, text, WhatsApp, or call if you would like to ask anything - I look forward to hearing from you.

Training, qualifications & experience

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
