About me

I am a qualified and experienced Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. I trained in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy at the Metanoia Institute in London. Before training in psychotherapy, I worked for over 30 years in international diplomacy and education overseas and coached clients across government departments. I have a deep understanding of the challenges of working in stressful environments and the toll that stress can take on personal and work relationships and on health. I believe we can all benefit from nurturing our mental health and well-being as much as our physical health and fitness. I will work collaboratively with you to help you understand how unconscious, internal processes may be keeping you hostage to painful feelings, disturbing thoughts and unhelpful behaviours. I offer a safe and confidential space to explore your problems, whether you are trying to cope with trauma, stress, anxiety, or depression; seeking to resolve relationship problems; recovering from divorce, loss and bereavement; facing prejudice and misunderstanding; feeling unable to lead a more fulfilling life and achieve your potential, or striving for a better work-life balance.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • MA Linguistics, Lancaster University
  • Diploma in Professional Coach-Mentoring, OCM Oxford
  • MSc In Executive Coaching, Ashridge Hult Business School
  • Diploma In Transactional Analysis Psychotherapeutic Counselling, Metanoia Institute
  • I am completing my MSc in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy
  • I offer short and long-term counselling for individuals and couples and individual and corporate coaching.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
