About me

Hello I'm Bhavna, a dedicated counsellor with a deep commitment to helping individuals navigate life's challenges and achieve emotional well-being. With a warm and empathetic approach, I strive to create a safe and supportive space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings and experiences without judgment.

As a person-centred counsellor, my approach to counselling is founded on empathy, unconditional positive regard and genuineness. I believe in creating a safe and non-judgmental space where clients feel empowered to explore their thoughts, feelings and experiences at their own pace. I prioritise the client's autonomy and self-discovery, working collaboratively to uncover their inherent strengths, facilitate personal growth and healing. Through active listening and reflective exploration, I strive to support clients in gaining insight, enhancing self-awareness and ultimately finding their own unique path towards a greater well-being.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified counsellor with a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and I’ve had the honour of assisting clients aged from fourteen years, with various backgrounds and dealing with a spectrum of challenges.

My specialised training and extensive practice in aiding individuals who’ve suffered trauma, particularly stemming from childhood sexual abuse, has equipped me to connect with clients during their most vulnerable moments.

I am currently enrolled on a Level 5 Diploma in Counselling Children and Young people, where once I qualify next year, I'll be able to work with clients who are eleven years and older. As a part of my Level 5 qualification, I am doing a volunteer placement at Sunrise Wellbeing in Anstey, Leicester.

I also have experience with teaching in secondary schools and supporting SEN children and young people, for over fifteen years. I understand the pressures of teaching and dealing with school politics.

My other training includes:

Single Session and Solutions Focused Therapy
Psychoeducation
Telephone & Online Counselling
Pre-Trial Therapy
Neurodiversity
Self-Harm and Suicide
Safeguarding
Trauma and PTSD
Level 3 Counselling Studies
Level 2 Counselling Children & Young People
Level 2 Counselling Skills

Further information

In addition to weekly therapy, I offer single session counselling, where I provide focused and effective support to individuals in a 90-minute session. My approach for these sessions is rooted in solution-focused therapy, aimed at empowering clients to make important decisions, especially during times of indecision or feeling stuck in life. Whether you're facing a crisis or simply need a space to talk things out and be heard, I'm here to provide a compassionate ear and practical guidance. Through our session we'll work together to explore your concerns, identify strategies for moving forward and cultivate the resilience needed to navigate life's challenges, with confidence and clarity.

If you're ready to embark on a journey of self-discovery and healing, I'm here to support you every step of the way. Feel free to reach out to me for a confidential consultation or to learn more about my services.
