Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

I know that you are the expert in your life and I trust that you will make the right decisions that are best for you. I will listen, use my knowledge and experience to reflect your patterns and true emotions so that you can process them and choose how you develop or continue as you wish.

I was born and bred in multi-cultural south London and have been on my own journey of personal development. I pride myself on my understanding of all different types of people. The struggles that we all face really mould how we live day to day. Exploring origins of behaviour is important to understanding your thought patterns and reasons why you act the way you do today. Have you been made to feel different to others? Have you felt judged? Is life with your thoughts and feelings difficult? Have you suffered physical and emotional abuse? If so, I offer a space to get these things out of your head, so you can start to see them for what they really are, and then prioritise them.

With experience of the military in my teenage years I soon realised that, although proud of my service, I felt more comfortable helping people. Later in life, finding myself in a sales job I decided it was time to dedicate myself to exploring my life and becoming a counsellor.

If you would like to make a booking please contact me via Website, Email, Phone Call or Text, and we can discuss your wishes and arrange our first meeting. Once we have met, I will let you know your options and you can decide whether you would like to continue to the second session. There is no obligation to book during initial contact so please ask any questions that are on your mind and I will answer them for you. I look forward to hearing from you.
