About me

It can seem like the hardest thing to do to access counselling, but it can be life changing if you take that first step in contacting me. I help clients to talk about their life experiences and to explore their relationship with self and others. Movement is experienced with issues such as depression, loneliness, bereavement, suicide ideation, trauma, abuse, low self-esteem and anxiety.

I have helped many clients in getting back to work, both with privately arranged sessions and also on the EAP (employee assistance programme) with managing stress in order to reach your full potential.

I'm also a fully qualified couples counsellor helping clients with relationship issues, family issues, affairs and betrayals, separation and divorce.  Couples often complain that they don't feel heard or understood. Working together, we improve communication and empathy for each other.

I am passionate about the benefits of counselling and the positive changes that good therapy triggers.  I use an Integrative approach which means incorporating many years of training and experience in psycho-dynamic, person-centred, systemic, CBT and solution focused modalities to bring about change.

I offer a non-judgmental and confidential service.  I'm a fully qualified and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and maintain a high standard of professionalism by complying with their ethical framework and codes of conduct.

Many of my clients had no experience of counselling and had no idea what to expect.  Being comfortable with your counsellor is probably the most important thing that will allow you to explore your thoughts and feelings and to move forward.

I don't specify a minimum amount of sessions, you decide if you want to return after each session.  Please contact me for further information on booking a session and feel free to call for an initial chat.

NOTE: My emails sometimes go into Spam, so please check your spam box for my reply.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
