About me
Welcome, how is everything going for you today? I am holding you may be searching for additional support, and this can all feel overwhelming. Hopefully the information I have provided below fits with your needs. In a nutshell, the therapy I offer means we work together, at your pace, to explore and consider the outcomes you feel will support you in making the choices or changes you believe would benefit you going forward. It's your space to talk, consider and explore whatever you want to.
Working with clients who feel overwhelmed, confused, conflicted or unhappy about who they are, is an area of therapy I am drawn to. Whether as a result of birth; life choice; changes in circumstances or life stage; labelling or perceptions by others; or unresolved events from their past, this can feel an isolating, anxiety- inducing, unsettling and distressing time/ It may also feel difficult to stop feeling negatively about yourself, feeling you're to blame. I get it, I really do, as I've personally experienced this in my life. The therapy I offer is a non-judgemental space for you to explore your inner thoughts, worries, or blocks that are making life difficult to cope with. A place you can be accepted for who you are.
I support people experiencing a range of needs for seeking therapy. These have included anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, abuse, identity issues, and relationship conflicts. A core element of my work is supporting people with the personal impact and difficulties experienced as a result of their neurodiversity (ADHD, Autism, ASD), sexuality (LGBTQ+ affirming), gender (gender-affirming), race, ethnicity, body size or religious belief. All clients are offered acceptance and support, never judgment or prejudice.
Sessions
Sessions can be in person in my therapy space, based in Nottingham, or if more convenient for your needs remotely via zoom or phone. I have experience working short-term (6-8 sessions) or on an open-ended longer basis. We can explore what you feel is most suitable for you during our 20-minute introduction chat (there is no fee for this). Following sessions, if you wish to continue, will be charged at £55 and last 50 minutes.
I believe you are the person who knows yourself best, and you will be the focus of our sessions. In the initial session I will carry out an assessment of what has brought you to therapy, plus explore what you wish to achieve by attending.
From the first session I shall provide a safe and trusting environment in which you can connect, at your pace, with your inner thoughts and whatever worries, concerns, or behaviours that you feel are causing you to be anxious, unhappy, fearful or making life difficult to cope with. I will not tell you what to do, try to fix you or dismiss what you bring. I will come to our sessions with a gentle curiosity and warmth supporting you to consider and explore what is preventing you being who or where you want to be.
What next...
If I sound the type of therapist you are looking for I would welcome the opportunity to explore this further during a 20-minute introduction chat.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
