About me

I am an accredited BACP therapist, qualified to work with couples, individuals, children and young people.  I bring qualities of warmth, respect and understanding, and provide a safe, confidential space to explore whatever problems or concerns you are facing.  With over 20 years of experience, I am an integrative counsellor, which means that I draw upon a range of therapeutic approaches and techniques, depending on your needs.  I have extensive experience of working with individuals and couples whilst working in private practice and with London Marriage Guidance and Relate, and I have over 9 years experience working with children and young people in a variety of educational settings.

I work with couples struggling with a wide variety of relationship issues, who are looking to find different ways of connecting with one another. I also support individuals, children and young people who find themselves experiencing challenges; sometimes in their social, work or schools lives, but sometimes from within themselves - behaviours, thoughts or feelings that are causing them problems and yet are difficult to manage or stop. In addition, I have extensive experience of working with children, young people and their parents who are affected by an ADHD diagnosis.

My aim is to help you gain clarity and insight, to help manage the struggles that we can all face at times, with the intention of moving forwards towards growth, change and a sense of wellbeing.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
