About us

Welcome! We are Diane, Inez and Lou, counsellors with almost 40 years of experience between us. We provide counselling for a wide range of issues including anxiety of all kinds, depression, relationships and family issues, bereavement, stress, self-esteem and more. We also offer relationship and marriage counselling.

The choice of counsellors and wide range of experience means we can tailor the counselling to your specific needs to ensure the best outcome for you.

We understand it can be hard to decide to try counselling and so we offer a free 20 minute consultation by phone or video for you to ask any questions you may have and to find out how we can work together on your issues.

This is what some past clients have said about us:

"I would not have had the confidence to do what I had to do without your help"

"You've helped me to understand how I've been feeling and why I felt that way."

"Thank you for getting us back from the brink."

"You've helped my son to understand and manage his anxieties, thank you so much."

”You have helped me rebuild my self confidence and made me look at life more positively .“

”Thank you for sharing my tears , my smiles and even some laughs.”

”You have helped me to resolve the conflict between my head and my heart .”

”We do appreciate your help. Things have improved a lot between us . Tensions have vanished and feelings have returned between us .”

Here are some frequently asked questions to help you understand how we work:

What type of counselling do you do?

Our primary focus is always to build a safe and trusting relationship with you so that you can feel comfortable to share and explore personal and difficult life experiences. We are trained in a number of modalities including Person Centred Counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Couples Counselling and Counselling for Children & Young People. We integrate therapies and tailor them to your specific needs and we will always explain this to you.

What kinds of issues do you have experience in?

We are all experienced in working with a wide range of issues such as anxiety of all kinds, depression, bereavement, self esteem, relationships and family problems, issues from childhood, trauma, abuse of all kinds, stress, self-defeating behaviour, trauma including PTSD and more. Lou also works with couples providing relationship/marriage counselling and Inez also works with children and young people aged 11-18.

How will I know you can help with my particular problem and which counsellor should I choose?

In the initial consultation we can talk about if and how we can work together, using the most appropriate type of therapy for your particular issues and based on your preferences. So in other words we will tailor the type of counselling to your specific needs.

You may have a preference of which of us you’d like to work with and/or we can guide you depending on which of us is most experienced or suited for your particular issue. If we can’t help you we will always be honest and tell you, and can usually recommend other therapists in the local area who could help.

Do I have to book or commit to a certain number of sessions?

The answer to this is ‘no’ you can book as you go. You may have a particular budget in mind so we can tailor a certain number of sessions to fit with your budget. It is usually best to commit to weekly or fortnightly sessions to get the most benefit.

Do I have to pay in advance?

We ask for payment at the time of the session by BACS, or cash. You are welcome to pay beforehand if you wish. We do have a cancellation policy which will be explained to you.

Sessions are £45 for 1 hour and £65 for couples for 1 hour 15 minutes.

We can also offer a 40 minute session for younger children at £35

Are sessions confidential?

We do not share anything with any other person, with a couple of exceptions: if we are seriously concerned about your well being and if there is a risk of harm either to yourself or others we may need to let someone know in order to keep you safe. We legally must report terrorism, drug trafficking and money laundering and also certain information concerning a road traffic accident. Anything else is confidential.
We also discuss cases in clinical supervision but no names are used to protect privacy.
We are all registered with the ICO.

Where are sessions held?

We have a quiet and comfortable therapy room in Kinver High Street and we also offer telephone and video sessions too.

Please do get in touch by email, phone or text and we’d be happy to chat through options with you, with no obligation. We aim to respond within 24 hours.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

We have verified that at least one professional at this organisation is registered with the relevant professional body.
