About me
Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile and to learn more about me, I look forward to the prospect of meeting you but if that is not to be, let me take this opportunity to send my best wishes to you. Entering therapy can feel very daunting, but my aim is to help you with your thoughts, feelings and actions and provide a safe place for you to explore the reasons why you’re seeking support.
I am a qualified Counsellor and member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I have completed a Diploma in Therapeutic Supervision. I offer face-to-face, telephone and Zoom sessions, short or long-term therapy for adolescents and adults. I have worked for many years with Family Matters, a leading charity providing therapy to survivors of sexual abuse, rape and sexual assault. I have, therefore, extensive experience and knowledge of working with men and women who have experienced guilt, shame, trauma, abuse, anger, self-harm, depression and some who may be having suicidal thoughts. My work has meant I have provided therapy to children from as young as four up to adults in their seventies. During my career I have worked supporting families and young people with all the issues they can have, and I have led a team working with pregnant women, parents who have young babies and who are experiencing pre/post-natal depression. Other issues I have helped people with have included bereavement, addictions, OCD, lack of self-esteem and anxiety.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
