About me

We can all struggle at times, and it can be daunting knowing where and how to seek support. I’m a psychodynamic counsellor and therapist based in Glasgow. Psychodynamic therapy helps you to understand your current feelings and behaviours and how these can be affected by past experiences or relationships. We can often get stuck in patterns or ways of behaving, sometimes unconsciously and I believe that understanding what these are and how they came about is the key to positive change. Most importantly, I believe that given the right support at the right time, we all have the capacity to make positive changes, in a way that is right for us.

My approach allows you to go at your own pace and gently work through issues to understand the root and cause. You will be encouraged to speak openly and freely about whatever is present for you, without judgement. We will work together to explore challenging feelings or experiences and through this support you to become freer and more fulfilled. The therapeutic process can help you to feel less stuck, and help to improve your day to day experiences and relationships.

I have over 25 years experience working within the field of mental health. This has given me a wide knowledge of the variety of difficulties that we can experience and how to support them. However, each individual is different and I will listen to YOUR story and help to support in ways relevant to you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
