About me

Do social situations make you anxious? Do you feel lonely even when you're in a crowd? Do you worry about how you're perceived by others? Do you suffer with meltdowns or panic attacks? As an autistic woman, I understand what it means to feel different. Living as an outlier in a neurotypical world can mean that stress, anxiety and depression feel like constant companions. If left unchecked, they can manifest into an inability to cope with day to day living and present itself as somatic distress. Today, I work with adults on a broad range of issues.

If you feel overwhelmed by anxiety and depression, I will guide you through the fog.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained at Spurgeon's College in Southeast London and I am proud to be part of their alumni. I specialise in using Petruska Clarkson's Five Systemic Relationships as the framework to our therapeutic work. I have experience of working with Alexithymia and I understand how to work with the process of helping you to notice, name and manage your emotions safely within our therapeutic relationship.

I take an interest in working with the autonomic nervous system. With your permission, we can use gentle techniques to soothe your nervous system in times of agitation or emotional numbness.

By building a therapeutic relationship, together we will work in depth to recognise triggers and maladaptive coping strategies. By bringing these into our awareness, we can start to make conscious decisions about how you would like your future to look.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

The work we do together and the relationship we cultivate are symbiotic.

From me, you can expect respect for your choices and validation for your self-worth.

Depending on what you want to work on, we may need to work for several weeks or several months. As an integrative practitioner, I tailor the work to your unique needs, always with your therapeutic goals in mind.

I will meet you in the place you are at emotionally. I am gentle in my approach and understand how overwhelming it can feel when seeking help. I will seek to understand the world through your eyes and together we will work therapeutically to get you to emotional good health.

You can expect me to be respectful and curious, reflective and, with your permission, gently challenging at times.
