About me

A qualified, professional counsellor/psychotherapist with a warm, gentle and compassionate approach, helping you to explore your issues in a sensitive way. In doing so you can expand your awareness, how to gain a different perspective, create healthy boundaries and help you grow from the inside out. Thus, creating a positive outlook and changes in your life.

My counselling approach includes person-centered, gestalt, emotion focused therapy and transactional analysis. I work with many issues however, my specialisms are depression, anxiety, relationships, bereavement, LGBTQ+ and I also offer animal assisted therapy to individuals and groups, this entails animal assisted activities for you and your pets, enabling you to interact with your pet in a different way, helping to support your mental health and well-being.

Working together, I will help facilitate growth by helping you look at your most pressing issue, which may lead to exploration of other aspects of your life, from the relationship with yourself, family, friends, work colleagues and your views on the world in general and how it effects your thinking, emotions, and outward behaviors.

I recognise how taking that first step towards therapy can prove a little difficult, however, I guarantee that I will allow space for autonomy in a non-judgmental manner, this will allow room for organic growth and a positive therapeutic relationship.

If you are interested in working with me, I offer a 15 to 30 minute initial telephone consultation, at no cost to yourself.  This will give us both a chance to introduce ourselves, discuss your needs and explore how we can work together.  This will also give you the opportunity to ask any questions in order for you to make a better-informed decision to go forward.

I currently offer sessions face to face, online, telephone, and offer walk and talk/ecotherapy sessions.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
