About me

A relaxed, relatable, and human approach to therapy.

I know that taking the first steps towards improved mental health and wellbeing - whether for yourself or your child - can feel intimidating. Because of this, my approach is intentionally relaxed, relatable, and deeply human. I blend genuine compassion with gentle humour to create a safe, empowering space where you can simply be you, knowing you will be welcomed, heard, and understood.

No two client journeys are ever the same. I practice a modern, integrative style of counselling and psychotherapy, drawing upon complementary therapeutic practices to tailor our work entirely to you. This is your journey, so you choose the destination - we go at your pace, but we go together.

My goal is to help you identify, understand, and alleviate the barriers standing between you and a happier, healthier life. To achieve long-term healing, we don't just treat immediate symptoms; we gently look inward to understand the cause. Together, we will make sense of how past experiences or old wounds might be shaping your emotions, thoughts, and reactions in the here and now, helping you shape a brighter future.

How I Work

I offer a free, no-obligation introductory consultation (in person, online, or over the phone). This is a gentle opportunity for us to meet, explore your goals, answer any questions, and see if counselling feels right for you.

Your First Session

I offer a standard appointment time of 60 minutes. During our first session, we’ll agree on the terms of our therapeutic relationship so you know exactly what to expect. We'll then build upon our initial consultation to gather a fuller picture of your life, your world, and what brings you to therapy, allowing me to tailor my approach specifically to you.

Flexibility Built Around You

There is absolutely no pressure to attend counselling weekly. We will collaborate to decide how often you wish to schedule your appointments. I offer both virtual and in-person sessions from the serene surroundings of the Peak District National Park, with flexible hours between 8:30am and 8:00pm Monday to Friday, as well as Saturday mornings, to accommodate your work-life schedule.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
