About me
If you are looking at my profile, you have made what might have felt like a difficult decision to ask for help. Now you are looking at the faces of strangers, trying to figure out what all the letters are beside their name. I would like to say, asking for help is the most difficult part, but unfortunately it is not. The change you are hoping for, has only just begun.
My name is Selina, and I have been trained as a Person-centred counsellor, which means I believe that the answers to your life, lie within you, however, life can get in the way, and our experiences can change our life path. We can become low, overwhelmed, confused, and feel there may not be anywhere to turn, but there is, and you reading my counselling profile suggests that you are ready to make that positive change. I have trained to a Masters degree (MSc) level in Counselling, which means I am competent in several proven theories in counselling. This allows me to give my clients a bespoke service, tailored to their specific needs.
I offer face-to-face counselling in central Bromsgrove, in a quiet, safe, stress free, private environment, easily accessible by foot, car and public transport. I also offer online and telephone counselling options to anyone over the UK. During counselling I can offer you non-judgement, confidentiality, and the space to safely organise your thoughts, which will allow positive change to happen. I am a member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists), and follow their ethical framework, which signifies that I work to an ethically high standard.
I hear clients say, “but there are so many more people out there, that are worse off than me”, however, life is relative, and if it is affecting you, then it is important. You will not be tied into a set number of sessions, or be told what is best for you, your sessions are just that, yours, and it is up to you how the sessions flow, and how many you have.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
