About me

I am a counsellor and psychotherapist offering a safe, confidential, non-judgmental space for when life feels overwhelming or when you feel like something is a bit off. At times life can feel as if you are surviving but not thriving. Through counselling and psychotherapy we can work together to make positive changes in your life.

I have many years’ of experience working in the mental health field and am ready to help when you feel it is time to reach out. I am an integrative counsellor which means that I work with a variety of therapeutic approaches that can be adapted to your needs. There is no 'one size fits all' approach to counselling meaning it can be as individual as you are.

I believe that everyone deserves a safe, supportive space to feel heard, and to work through their struggles. Despite what may be a common thought, there is no such thing as a ‘typical counsellor’ I am down to earth, have a good sense of humour, and will not judge you.

Taking the first step can be hard and even feel intimidating. Maybe you have considered having counselling several times but put it off for various reasons. Once you have made the decision to reach out I am committed to making you feel at ease. I offer a free 15 minute telephone call so that we can have an initial conversation and see if we might work well together.

Children and Young People

Sometimes children and young people can get stuck and need help too. Trying to get this help can feel like an impossible task. I have many years’ of experience working with children and young people from the age of 7 in private practice as well as in schools and colleges. I have extensive experience using CBT in my work with children and young people but also have training and experience in creative therapies. There is no need for a referral and no lengthy waiting list.

I hold an enhanced DBS for my work with children and also have level 3 safeguarding and child protection training.

Where do you work?

I work face to face from my therapy room in central Exeter that is accessible to clients across Devon. I also offer online and telephone counselling throughout the UK. I offer individual therapy for children, young people and adults, as well as family therapy.

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
