About me
I have worked in the NHS as a mental health professional and occupational therapist for 30 years. This has given me experience of working with people from diverse backgrounds who encounter all sorts of difficulties in their lives. I can help if you struggle with anxiety, depression or low self-esteem and if you feel 'stuck' and lacking direction in your life and are overwhelmed by your current circumstances.
I am a qualified counsellor and I use a humanistic integrative approach. I understand that it is not always easy to talk about problems and to express your feelings. I offer a safe, confidential space, where you can talk about yourself and your life.
I can help if it feels like you have had your feet knocked from beneath you by a traumatic experience, a bereavement or change in an important relationship.
I will work with you without judging you help to you to make the changes you would like to make. Together we will build a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship and explore what is holding you back from becoming your best 'self'.
We can 'walk and talk' if you prefer this to the idea of conventional face to face counselling.
I also have experience of working with people who are neuro-diverse, autistic and people who have dementia and their carers.
It's best to contact me by email: talkingtherapynorthdevon@gmail.com
