About me
Life can be challenging, and many of us were never taught how to understand our emotions or navigate difficult experiences. People come to therapy for many reasons, not only when things feel overwhelming, but also when they want space to reflect, gain insight, or make sense of patterns before they become more entrenched.
I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist offering a warm, relational, and person-centred approach to therapy. At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship and the belief that you are the expert in your own experience.
I work with adults and young people and have extensive experience supporting clients with complex trauma and neurodivergent experiences. My aim is to provide a safe, non-judgemental space where you can explore concerns at your own pace, develop understanding, and find ways forward that feel right for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
My interest in the human mind and inner world has shaped my training from the very beginning of my career and continues to inform my work today. I am committed to understanding the human psyche and to working thoughtfully and flexibly with each individual or couple, recognising that no two therapeutic journeys are the same.

Experience and background
I have extensive experience working with adults and young people, supporting both neurodivergent individuals (including ADHD) and those with complex trauma. My work with neurodivergent clients often focuses on emotional regulation, identity and self-esteem, masking, shame, and the challenges of living in environments that are not always accommodating or understanding.
I also work extensively with trauma-related difficulties, including sexual abuse (including childhood sexual abuse), rape and harassment, neglect, abandonment, emotional abuse, early bereavement, bullying, dissociation (including DID), complex PTSD, attachment difficulties, self-harm, suicidal ideation, and relationship issues.
In addition, I support clients with concerns such as grief and bereavement, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, anger, separation and divorce, isolation, and life transitions.
Alongside my counselling work, I am a qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist, specialising in Past Life Regression and Progression Therapy, which I integrate carefully and ethically when appropriate.
My background in education includes a five-year degree in Pedagogy and extensive experience in training development, facilitation, and delivery. I also practise as a clinical supervisor, supporting other counsellors and psychotherapists, and continue to develop my work in personal coaching.

Areas of counselling I deal with
Other areas of counselling I deal with
Individual counselling
I work in a pluralistic and integrative way, meaning I draw on different therapeutic approaches and tools in collaboration with each client. This allows the work to be tailored to your needs, preferences, learning style, and pace, rather than following a fixed model.
Depending on what feels most helpful, I may integrate elements from approaches such as Transactional Analysis (TA), psychodynamic and psychoanalytic therapies, CBT, mindfulness, Gestalt therapy, narrative therapy, emotion-focused and solution-focused therapies, Comprehensive Resource Model (CRM), and creative or play-based approaches.
I also value offering alternative therapeutic options where appropriate, such as outdoor therapy or creative therapies, recognising that not everyone feels comfortable with traditional talking therapy. In the near future, I will also be introducing animal-assisted therapy as an additional option.
I offer individual therapy to adults and young people. I also provide therapy to counsellors and psychotherapists, with reduced fees available for counselling and psychotherapy students.
Relationship & Couple counselling
I am trained in psychodynamic and systemic approaches to relationship counselling. I work with couples and individuals around issues such as communication difficulties, intimacy and sexual concerns, infidelity, power dynamics, differences in values or parenting styles, and challenges related to separation or divorce.
The focus is on increasing understanding of relational patterns, improving communication, and supporting more conscious and respectful ways of relating.
Life Coaching
I offer personal coaching for clients seeking support with areas such as ADHD, life transitions, existential questions, fear of change, career decisions, feeling stuck or unfulfilled, personal development, and confidence.
Coaching is typically more focused and goal-oriented, while still being reflective and supportive.
Clinical hypnotherapy
I provide clinical hypnotherapy to support issues such as phobias, confidence, anxiety, and behavioural patterns. I also offer Past Life Regression and Progression Therapy for clients interested in exploring spiritual growth, recurring life patterns, relationships, life purpose, or personal blocks.
This work is always offered ethically and in line with each client’s beliefs and goals.
Clinical supervision
I am a qualified clinical supervisor and offer supervision to counselling students and qualified counsellors, providing a reflective, supportive, and ethically grounded space for professional development.

My approach
The foundation of my work is person-centred in its values, with a pluralistic approach in practice. I place great emphasis on the therapeutic relationship, the core conditions, and the belief that each client is the expert in their own experience. I see these elements as central to effective therapy, regardless of the specific approaches or techniques used.
I aim to offer a warm, genuine, and accepting therapeutic space where clients can feel safe enough to explore difficult or meaningful aspects of their inner world, gain insight, and develop greater understanding of themselves and their patterns.
I offer both long-term, in-depth counselling and psychotherapy for individuals, as well as more focused, shorter-term work with couples. The pace, depth, and number of sessions are always guided by the client. My role is not to provide answers, but to support and empower clients to find their own.
Getting started
If you are interested in starting therapy with me, you are welcome to contact me by email or text to arrange a free 30-minute consultation, with no obligation. Due to the nature of my work, I am not always able to answer phone calls.
I currently work from my premises in Newport on Tay and/or online. Once we agree on a day and time, I will send you the full address or online link and any other details you may need.
The consultation is an opportunity for you to ask any questions and to briefly outline what you would like support with. No further appointment is arranged at this stage, allowing you the space to decide whether starting therapy feels right for you, without pressure.
If you choose to proceed, the first session will involve going through the therapeutic agreement and beginning to clarify your goals for therapy.
The number of sessions you attend is entirely your choice. I often recommend starting with weekly sessions to support the development of the therapeutic relationship, though this can be adapted to suit your needs and circumstances.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me by email or text.
