About me

Welcome. Please take your time and have a look at my profile here and around my website at www.oakflower.co.uk. If you feel I may be able to help, then I will be very happy to talk to you.

Maybe life feels just too difficult right now? Are you grieving, highly anxious, depressed or suffering in some other way? Are you in need of someone to listen deeply and compassionately? Maybe you have a particular issue in mind, or perhaps things are not that clear.

Counselling and Psychotherapy with Ruth Jenni

With over ten years' counselling experience to draw on, in therapy with me you will have my in depth wholehearted support in finding tools, resources and confidence to deal with your difficulties.

I offer you:

Caring, perceptive, deep listening and acceptance. A welcome to you and all that you may be experiencing. I strive to help the complex feel simple. A moment by moment approach which facilitates lasting change.

I offer experienced help if you are in crisis, feeling overwhelmed or stuck, at a loss what to do next, in need of a safe place to talk, have issues that could be helped by having a considerate, professional supporter.

What we will do is explore together, get to know what is actually happening for you, what does and what doesn’t help. New awareness arises, new tools are mastered, new approaches taken. Given space and witnessing, unbearable feelings and thoughts diminish, your problems become ones that you have the resources to deal with.

Over time emerges confidence, willingness and new meaning. Life opens up again.

I work with adults, couples and young people using talking therapy and I offer the option to incorporate creative exercises. In person or online. Locally in the UK, internationally online. See my website ww.oakflower.co.uk for more information.

I offer help with:

Anxiety, Trauma, PTSD, Complex PTSD, GAD, Self Harming, Depression, Bereavement, Grief, Loneliness, Being a Highly Sensitive Person, Relationship issues, Self-esteem, Chronic pain, M.E., Menopause, Infidelity.

In particular I work a lot with Anxiety in a trauma informed way.  This can be short term but more often medium to long term work. I also work long term in a psychotherapeutic way.

I work in Dartington, Buckfastleigh and online via Zoom or Skype.  Within easy reach of Totnes,  Ashburton and South Brent.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
