About me

Hello and welcome,

I am an experienced, registered counsellor who can help you move through your difficulties to feel more empowered and happier with your life. I’ve seen clients thrive and make many positive changes over the years.

I have been counselling since 2010 and have a wealth of experience of working with adults in a health service, social care and voluntary organisations helping people from diverse backgrounds with a wide range of issues, i.e., Mental Health, Anxiety, Depression, Relationships, Family Conflict, Abuse, low Self Esteem, Anger Management, Loss and Bereavement, Infertility, feeling sad, Confidence etc. I offer one to one therapy with adults.

In addition, I have many years experience of counselling children and young adults in schools and have supported families in crisis.

I work in an integrative way which means I use a combination of therapies to best meet your needs, (Person-centred, psychodynamic and CBT approaches). I match my skills and experience to meet your needs.

Whatever your reasons for seeking counselling, I am here to help and support you through the process. Life can be challenging and exhausting but sometimes what we really need is time to reflect, re-adjust and gather our strength again. This is where I come in to help you by providing a safe, comfortable and warm space where you have the opportunity to discuss whatever it is on your mind. This is within a supportive and relaxed atmosphere, without fear or judgement.

Therapy can help you gain a new perspective on your current situation and help you to explore your feelings to empower you to move forward. If you want to feel more in control of your life circumstances or feel better about yourself, then therapy can do this by giving you the space you need to offload and truly be heard. By working together, you will start to experience a new level of wellbeing and feel a greater sense of peace and happiness. You will feel positive about your future.

Taking the first step can feel scary and I understand the importance of finding someone that you feel comfortable with hence a free initial consultation is offered to you to see if I’m the right therapist for you.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
