About me

Are you struggling at the moment? Would you like to be able to better understand yourself and why you think and act the way you do? Maybe you're feeling overwhelmed and want to think it through with someone. Or perhaps you feel like therapy is something you'd like to try.

I create a safe, nurturing, non-judgemental space for people to be able to be their full selves and talk through things that might be, or might have been, difficult for them. Finding such spaces can be difficult in our society which is why creating a supportive relationship is a vital aspect of the way I work. Thinking about reaching our for help is the first step and I'd like to support you in considering further steps you'd like to take.

Training, qualifications & experience

Clinical Experience

I have worked in a variety of clinical environments, from community-based settings to highly secure forensic environments, with individuals with a range of mental health difficulties. My duties have included clinical research, psychological assessment, formulation, and therapy with individuals and groups. My work is informed by informed by psychological theory and best practice guidance. I have worked across the NHS, university settings, and in third sector organisations.

I have interests in anxiety disorders (generalised anxiety disorder; obsessive compulsive disorder; body dysmorphic disorder; panic disorder), trauma and PTSD, childhood abuse (sexual, emotional, physical), work-related stress and burnout, unusual sensory experiences (psychoses) and humanitarian work. This list is not exhaustive. My therapeutic work is informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Systemic Therapy, and person-centred counselling. I work holistically - tailoring any work we do to what you need most and allowing for space to consider how other aspects of your wellbeing, including your physical health and/or relationships might be affected by your difficulties. It is important we both get an idea of what you want from therapy, and work towards this and review it often to ensure that you feel supported in your journey.
