About me
Welcome.
I offer a warm, non-judgemental space where you can begin to make sense of what’s been weighing on you. I specialise in working with trauma, including overwhelming experiences, long-standing patterns, and more complex psychological difficulties.
You might find yourself feeling constantly on edge, overwhelmed, or stuck in patterns you don’t fully understand. Perhaps past experiences still feel present, even when you want to move forward.
I am trained in EMDR and other therapeutic approaches, and we will work together to find a way of working that feels safe, collaborative, and attuned to your needs.
I also support individuals recovering from controlling or high-demand environments, including cults, coercive relationships, and rigid communities - providing a safe space to explore and gradually step away at your own pace.
Starting therapy can feel daunting. I aim to move at your pace, with care and sensitivity to your experiences, and an awareness of how psychological pain can affect many areas of your life.
My work is trauma-informed, culturally attuned, and inclusive. I particularly welcome Black clients, people from racialised communities, LGBTQ+ individuals, neurodivergent people, and those living with long-term health conditions or physical limitations - as well as anyone who has felt overlooked, misunderstood, or marginalised.
Training, qualifications & experience
Clinical Experience
I am a Clinical Psychologist with experience across community services and highly secure forensic settings, working with individuals with a wide range of mental health difficulties.
My work has included psychological assessment, formulation, and therapy with both individuals and groups, as well as clinical research. I have worked within the NHS, university settings, and third-sector organisations.
Much of my clinical work has focused on supporting individuals who have experienced trauma and its wider impact, including experiences such as childhood abuse (sexual, emotional, physical), PTSD, and complex or long-standing psychological difficulties. I also work with related difficulties such as anxiety (GAD, OCD, panic, BDD), work-related stress and burnout, and unusual sensory experiences (such as hearing or seeing things others don’t).
Therapeutic Approaches
I am trained in a range of evidence-based therapies, with a particular focus on EMDR. I integrate different approaches depending on your needs, always working collaboratively and at your pace.
My training includes:
- Eye Movement Densitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR)
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Systemic Therapy
- Person-Centred Counselling
I take a holistic approach, considering how your wellbeing, relationships, routines, and physical health interact with the difficulties you bring. We will regularly review progress together to ensure therapy feels helpful and supportive.
