About me

I became a psychotherapist after a long career in the arts which is where my interest in human nature began. It allowed me to see life through other people’s eyes and gave me an in-depth understanding of the challenges you may be experiencing. Perhaps there are problematic relationships you're struggling with, or you have complex anxieties, self-doubt and self-criticism? Maybe there have been events, out of your control, that have left deep scars, or you are feeling overwhelmed by the enormity of life in general? Whatever difficulties you are facing, you will find me to be a warm, caring person, who offers a calm, relaxed approach to therapy. I will be sensitive and adaptable to your needs, and committed to providing you with the best possible support throughout our time together.

 What to expect from therapy.

I offer you unconditional compassion and care for anything you want to bring to therapy. It is a place to have time for yourself and where I will want to listen, understand and help. In an inclusive, non-judgemental way, we will explore where your difficult thoughts, feelings and emotions come from and understand how they are affecting you now. Through that understanding we will make the lasting changes you need for a contented, positive future.

By exploring everything together we will give you back clarity, choice and control.

Please feel free to email, text or call for more information.

I work with clients who are experiencing; anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma/ptsd, abuse, low self-esteem, anger management, borderline personality disorder, social anxiety (SAD/GAD), health issues and bereavement.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
