About me
Sometimes in our lives we can feel worried, anxious, angry, depressed or disconnected from others. We might have lost motivation and struggle to get through the day. We may know the reasons behind this, or we may not, which can leave us feeling confused and possibly like we are not in control. Whether you understand the reasons behind these difficult feelings or not, counselling can provide a space to explore these issues in a safe, caring environment.
Providing this safe, caring environment is at the heart of the way I work. By offering a warm, confidential space where you will not be judged, it is my hope that you will feel safe to explore the aspects of your life, your past, or yourself which are causing you distress. I work in a way that is tailored to your needs and puts you first. The number of sessions you have and the pace of the therapy is up to you. I offer sessions from a wheelchair accessible therapy room based in the Yorkshire Dales. I also offer outdoor therapy for those who would prefer to be in nature when undertaking sessions. For those who are unable to attend in person, remote sessions are available either online or via telephone.
I understand that choosing a therapist can be daunting so I offer a free, no obligation consultation of 15 minutes where we can speak and you can decide if I am the right therapist for you. If you would like to know more or if you would like to book an initial consultation or appointment, feel free to contact me.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have worked with numerous client groups including those classed as having disabilities, those who are bereaved and those who are experiencing addictions and/or trauma. More specifically I have spent over 10 years working with individuals who have Autism both within educational establishments and within third sector organisations. I acknowledge and celebrate diversity in all of its forms and am passionate about providing therapy to meet each client's needs.
I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and as such my work is upheld by their ethical framework.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
