About me

As a versatile therapist, I enjoy using a range of methods including person-centred, psychodynamic, CBT, trauma-focused, somatic, and more. This allows me to tailor my approach to better meet your needs as an individual or a couple.

I strive to create a warm and inclusive space where people of all genders, races, ages, abilities, and backgrounds can feel comfortable bringing their true selves without shame or judgment.

Why choose to work with me?

I don't subscribe to a 'one size fits all' approach. Instead, I integrate insights from diverse therapeutic modalities like person-centred, psychodynamic, CBT, emotion-focused therapy, and somatic practices. I believe in tailoring therapy to fit the unique needs of each individual and couple. Your journey is unique, and your therapy sessions should reflect that.

What will you gain from it?

You will gain a deeper understanding of yourself, your struggles, your relationships, and your past—and how it may be shaping your present. I can show you ways to explore, manage, and better understand:

  • Stress, anxiety, and depression
  • Panic attacks
  • Family dynamics
  • Unhealthy patterns
  • Relationship issues
  • Work-related challenges
  • Low self-esteem and self-worth
  • Issues relating to your sex life

If needed, I will provide a safe space for you to process feelings related to:

  • Past traumas
  • Childhood sexual abuse and adverse experiences
  • Abusive relationships, romantic or otherwise
  • Having been coerced and controlled

How will this improve your life?

Together, we'll work to create positive change in various aspects of your life, depending on your goals and needs. Your voice and choices will always be respected, heard, and valued. Having been on this journey myself, I recognise the challenges that come from deciding to face our inner fears and vulnerabilities, and I commend you for doing the same.

What's the process?

Choosing a therapist can be daunting, especially since there are so many of us to choose from! To help us see if we could be a good fit for each other, let's have a 20-minute free video call. That way, you'll be able to get a sense of how I work, ask any questions you may have, and I'll be able to advise whether or not I may be the right therapist for you, based on my knowledge, experience, and availability.

Once the first session is booked, I will send you our counselling contract and ask that you provide emergency contact details. As we'll be working online, I need to be able to reach out to someone you trust if anything were to happen to you during a session.

How many sessions will you need?

This will all depend on your needs, your presenting issues, and the pace at which you feel comfortable working. Some people only need six sessions; others, a couple of years. Your therapy journey is unique, and we can work flexibly depending on your needs: weekly or bi-weekly, as well as introducing breaks during the process if needed.

Is online therapy as effective as in-person therapy?

Numerous studies indicate that online therapy can be equally effective as its in-person counterpart. Additionally, the online format enhances accessibility, providing a valuable option for individuals dealing with anxiety, triggers, or disabilities that may hinder their comfort in accessing another physical space.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
