About me

Wanting to live a happy, purposeful and fulfilled life shouldn't feel like an impossible goal.  You have a right to all these things.

Even getting this far might have been difficult, but you've taken the first step to trying to make changes, feel better or have a better understanding of the world around you.  Working together with you, I can help with all of these things. Everyday life can heap pressures on people and we can find ourselves anxious, worried, depressed or maybe just a niggling feeling that something isn't right. You might feel like this, and that there isn't a way forward, but there is.

I am an experienced therapist and enjoy working with clients to better understand their issues and help them work towards a more positive and fulfilled life. By offering a safe and non-judgemental space, I promise to listen and to treat you and your feelings with the utmost respect. I will help you to make sense of things and support you by helping you to address complex feelings and emotions or finding ways to make peace and live with them.

By helping you to recognise the changes and developments you will make in therapy, we will work together to find solutions to problems. You will explore your feelings, increase your self-awareness and develop new coping techniques.

I believe that being in therapy is a sign of strength, love and self-care, and it is never a sign of weakness.

Please feel free to give me a call or send me an email or a text to see if I can help.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist working in private practice. I have worked for charitable organisations and with individual clients. I am very much at home working with / have extensive experience of clients in, the LGBTQ+ community.

Equally, I have nearly two decades experience of working with young adults in educational settings and am at ease working with young clients. I also have extensive experience of working in the performing arts and understand the particular pressures that clients in this sector might experience.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
