About me

Hi, my name is Marzena. As an integrative psychotherapist, I offer a holistic and individualised form of psychotherapy and counselling, combining evidence-based methods, that treats the whole you, embracing your mental, emotional and spiritual needs.

HOW CAN I HELP?

Whatever has brought you here, I hope I may be able to help you.

  • It may be that you are dealing with loss, trauma, depression or anxiety, feeling stuck, overwhelmed or burnout.
  • Perhaps you are trying to overcome limiting beliefs and unhealthy patterns, or develop self-confidence, and let go of things that do not serve you.
  • Or you may be searching for meaning and fulfilment, or a deeper connection with yourself and others.

As a highly trained psychotherapist, I can help you navigate and redefine the challenges you are facing and transform your mindset by discovering unconscious patterns that may govern your behaviour and stand in the way of the life you truly want.

WORKING WITH ME

I work in a collaborative and culturally sensitive manner, honouring your uniqueness and adapting a style and pace that works best for you to make a profound and lasting change.

My strength-based approach is rooted in humanistic values promoting self-empowerment and self-actualisation.

I am committed to providing a safe and calming space of unconditional acceptance and empathy to help you develop deeper insight, resilience, and self-compassion so you can access your inner resources and flourish in alignment with your authentic needs and values.

Through teaching mindfulness and practicing meditation for over 20 years, I have developed effective methods for balancing the nervous system and transforming thoughts and emotions. It has sharpened my perception and intuition by training my mind to be fully present so I can better recognise and respond to my clients’ needs, which adds a wealth of experience and skills to my psychotherapeutic practice.

MY APPROACH

As an integrative psychotherapist, I’m trained in various modalities, which equip me with a broad range of evidence-based methods to create a unique therapeutic experience that best suits your specific context, preferences and personality.

During 13 years of academic research and multidisciplinary studies of psychotherapy, psychology, cultural anthropology, ethnology, religions and philosophy, I explored the complexity of the connection between body, mind and spirit from Western and Eastern perspectives.

It allowed me to tap into deeper dimensions of a therapeutic process by working in a holistic and psychosomatic way to help you access and release deeply rooted beliefs and patterns, embracing all aspects of your being.

MY VALUES

As a London-based therapist and trainer, I have been working globally with a diverse range of clients and issues, integrating multicultural competence in inclusive, relevant and ethical services that uplift and empower individuals, respecting their cultural and spiritual heritage.

My background in cultural and social studies, as well as years of living in various countries, helped me develop cultural awareness and skills and expanded my ability to understand different perspectives and appreciate how beautifully unique everyone is.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

FREE INITIAL CONSULTATION

I offer a free 15 minute Initial Consultation to briefly explore what brings you to therapy so that you can get a sense of who I am and how we can work together. We can discuss your hopes and expectations, and any questions or concerns you might have about the process.

If you feel that I might be the right person to work with you, we will book a 50 minute Assessment session. There is no obligation to engage in therapy after the assessment.

ASSESSMENT SESSION

The Assessment session is our very first session together. It gives us an opportunity to get to know each other and explore in depth what brings you to therapy and what you hope to gain. To better understand your situation and how the problem developed we will look into your current and past experiences within your specific context. This overview will help us create a treatment plan and learn how we can work together to support you in reaching your therapeutic goals.

If we both decide we are happy to embark on this work together, we will agree to meet on a regular basis, for 50 minutes, at the same time each week.
