About me
You may be the person everyone relies on. Successful, capable and holding everything together. Yet underneath, you feel anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected or simply exhausted from carrying so much for so long.
Many of the people I work with have spent years trying to cope on their own. Therapy offers the opportunity to slow down, understand what's happening beneath the surface, and make sense of the patterns that shape your relationships, emotions and sense of self.
I'm Louise, a psychotherapist based near Regent's Park in Central London. I work with adults who want to understand themselves more clearly, untangle familiar patterns, and approach life with greater steadiness and self-respect.
My work draws on Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Integrative Arts Psychotherapy. That simply means we have more than one way of working, depending on what feels most helpful. Some sessions are entirely conversational. Others may use imagery, objects or creative materials to explore experiences that are difficult to put into words. You don't need to be artistic – these are simply different ways of understanding yourself.
I bring together professional training and lived experience, and I work in an active, collaborative way. I don't rush the process, but I don't sit back either. Together we'll become curious about the patterns that have shaped your life and discover new ways of responding to them.
I see clients in a calm, creative space in Central London, with both a traditional therapy room and a larger studio available. I also offer online sessions for people who prefer to work remotely.
If you're wondering whether therapy is right for you, I offer an initial chemistry session. It's simply a chance for us to meet, talk about what's bringing you to therapy, and see whether working together feels like a good fit.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
My work is grounded in both professional training and lived experience. Alongside my psychotherapy practice, I have over 26 years' experience in 12-step recovery and understand the courage it takes to make lasting change.
I work with people at many different stages of life, including those navigating anxiety, burnout, relationship difficulties, trauma, addiction, recovery, major life transitions and questions of identity.
Sessions can be conversational or incorporate creative approaches such as imagery, objects or simple art materials when words alone don't quite capture what's happening. There is never any expectation to be artistic.
My consulting rooms are close to Regent's Park in Central London, and I also offer online sessions.
