About me

Feeling overwhelmed, stressed and getting anxiety? Looking for help when you are struggling emotionally, means that you are taking a big step in the right direction and it takes great courage. It also shows huge strength within a person and means that you are on your journey to starting to feel happier.

I am a qualified and experienced integrative psychotherapist, counsellor and life coach and I genuinely love what I do. I've been practicing as a therapist for over 12 years. I work with adults, and also specialise in working with children, young people and young adults. I work with a Gestalt core philosophy, which is an holistic approach integrating other models of therapy. The secret to therapy being successful, I feel, is down to feeling safe, comfortable and being able to talk openly and honestly to a therapist who genuinely cares about how you feel. We all know when someone cares, because we can feel it.

At various times in life we all need help in order to cope even better, during difficult times, sometimes we can feel overwhelmed and stressed, feel anxious, need help accepting and adjusting to things we cannot control, our lives changing, or to make changes in order to feel happier and even simply to enhance how we feel, feel more confident, fulfil our potential and to become our best selves. It's all natural and part of being human. Feeling able to relax, to be yourself and be authentic is the key to a successful and happy life. I believe that we all can be, and deserve to be happy.

I work long term with people but can also work short term, depending on what is needed. I offer a free introductory session over the phone so that you can see how you feel and decide if I am the therapist for you. This is particularly important when I work with children and young people, as the therapy will not be successful if only the parents want support for their child. They must want the support themselves. In situations where children or young people maybe reluctant to access therapy, I am happy to meet up in person for free, for them to talk and get a chance to meet me, so that they can make their own decision.

I work with integrity and when you choose to work with me, I can promise you that I will always do my best to help.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
