About me

I am a registered integrative therapist, which means I draw from a diverse range of therapeutic techniques including Person Centred Therapy, Gestalt, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), to create a care plan that best suits your needs.

I have a passion for helping individuals navigate the challenges life may bring, especially after overcoming my own challenges and finding therapy very helpful and transformative for my personal growth.

While my approach is rooted in established evidence and theoretical knowledge, I believe that a strong therapist-client relationship is essential for effective change. I understand that not all methods will resonate with every individual, so my commitment is to ensure that your therapeutic journey aligns with what you truly need. My approach is straightforward but simultaneously warm and often injected with a touch of humour.

In our sessions, you'll be able to talk about your issues, experiences, and thoughts, things you might not share with other people in your life. I offer a private and confidential place where we can talk about these things and how they affect you. But my primary goal remains your self-empowerment and fostering a sense of self-compassion within you.

We can have an initial meeting where I'll support you to think about your needs and help you to determine if therapy is the right course for you. During our meeting, I will ask questions to gain a better understanding of what has led you to pursue support at this time. We will also explore what your therapy sessions could look like, which will include identifying your preferred ways of working and adjusting the therapy process to best meet your individual needs. This first meeting is important for you to see how you feel with me and if I'm someone you can work with. I strongly believe in the importance of having a therapist with whom you feel a sense of trust and comfort.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Integrative Counselling Diploma, 2022
Placement hours within the NHS (focusing on CBT) and The Awareness Centre low-cost service (located in Clapham).

I have had the opportunity to support women coping with chronic pain conditions, including Endometriosis and Adenomyosis. My volunteer experience includes offering support to families at a charity dealing with the grief of child loss, and I am currently dedicating my time to assisting a charity in an effort to aid individuals recuperating from domestic violence.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
