About me

Are you looking for someone to talk to?  Someone to off-load to in a safe space without judgement or criticism? Someone to help you untangle your thoughts? Someone who can help you  look at your past, present and future, this could include your childhood, your current relationships, or perhaps behavior patterns or how you feel about yourself in general. 

I am passionate about helping people who struggle and  experience low self worth, lack of confidence and direction, anxiety, childhood and adult trauma , stress , work place issues, sadness. I will help you by working along side you to explore your feelings / challenges to enable you to be the person who you want to be. Helping you move forward. I also work with those who've experienced loss from losing someone through death or illness ( such as dementia) or relationship loss ( family issues). I am a registered and qualified counsellor, offering person centered therapy. I offer Face to face, walk and talk , telephone and email therapy. I provide therapy to enable and encourage positive change and improved mental health and overall well-being.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified counsellor. I am also registered with the BACP. I have been helping people through counselling since 2008. Having worked for an agency in a volunteer setting and also my own private practice. I have experience of working with a varied client group helping with issues including low Self worth, low self esteem and confidence, depression, anxiety, loss, low mood, childhood trauma, relationships , adult health issues inc. fibromyalgia.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

I have a wealth of experience in health and social care. Im aware of the challenges and struggles of working in this field along with the job satisfaction of helping support people. Client groups including Working with dementia and older people. I also have 16 years experience within the counselling profession as a volunteer practitioner and in private practice.
