About me

We aren't meant to fit into boxes. I believe that you are the expert of yourself and that my role is to help you explore whatever it is you bring in a nonjudgmental way with awareness, curiosity, and support. What brings you here today?

Sometimes, we seek therapy because we need someone to listen without judgment. Other times, we may feel that we have lost ourselves, or are trying to figure out who we want to be going forward. While there is no magic wand to get there in an instant, my practice style is to come alongside you and hold a safe space to help support you on your therapeutic journey.

I offer an integrative approach and believe that everyone should be welcome to be themselves. I have worked with a range of ages and backgrounds, including those experiencing depression, anxiety, life transitions, and family issues, as well as those who are survivors of trauma or struggling with low self-esteem.

Various trauma trainings and other courses enable me to support your experience, and I have a Master of Counselling from the University of Edinburgh that includes COSCA qualification. I’m also a BACP member.

I’m always engaging with new research and knowledge around mental health and wellbeing to make sure I can support my clients. Before training to become a therapist, I worked 10 years as an editor where I helped support others to find their voice in their writings. My background helped me develop into the therapist I am and I offer an accepting, empathetic, and safe environment that is unique to you.

Reaching out can feel like a big step to some. I wish you the best whenever you do so with whomever you choose.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
