About me
I wholeheartedly believe that a genuine relationship between client and therapist is fundamental to positive change taking place.
I’m aware of the impact difficult relationships and traumatic events can have on our lives. They can affect our self-worth, cause anxiety, depression, even lead to self-harm or thoughts of suicide. Outside factors can have a huge impact on our lives. I will work with you to help you find a way to create a calmer, happier, more authentic life for yourself.
I work extensively with trauma which can come in many forms including early childhood trauma, neglect, emotional, physical or sexual trauma. I've also worked with survivors of sexual trauma and take a trauma informed approach to ensure your safety at all times.
I'm also passionate about supporting survivors of domestic abuse; which can include not just physical abuse but emotional abuse, financial control, gas-lighting and coercive control. Many survivors often feel they've lost their own personal identity and we’ll work together to help you find yourself again.
In our lives we can experience loss in many forms - loss of identity, relationship breakdown, estrangement, divorce, illness and bereavement. These major life changes can hugely impact us.
Many more of us are now seeking out ways to understand how and why we process information and situations differently to others. This has led to many more diagnoses in later stages of life for autism, ADHD, AuDHD. I work in a neuro-affirming way - seeking to understand how we can best work together for clients exploring neurodivergence or those with a diagnosis.
Before setting up my own private practice I worked as a counsellor for MIND, Basingstoke College of Technology, Hart Voluntary Action and START (Sexual Trauma and Abuse Restorative Therapies).

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
