About me
Are things becoming difficult & overwhelming to cope with at the moment and you don't understand why ? Do you need someone to listen to you and help you find away forward that makes sense to you ?
I'm Jo and I would love to help & support you. I am a fully qualified counsellor and registered member of the NCPS. I offer a confidential, non-judgemental and empathetic space, where your voice will truly be heard.
I work as an integrative counsellor. which means I blend different therapeutic models, skills and tools into our sessions like Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, CBT and Creative Therapy to offer you a bespoke service that is right for you. I will firstly build up a therapeutic relationship using the Person Centred approach to get to know you as an individual. I will be guided and support you at all times as you move through your healing journey. I am also a Breathwork coach and our breath is know to have a healing power. How we breath affects every system and function in the body, by changing how you breath you can change the way you live, how you feel, your energy levels and stress levels. I can teach you new techniques that will help with this.
I am a proud Royal Navy Veteran I have worked for 25 years in a variety of agencies and charities prior to starting my own private practice. My previous experience includes working with adults and children from all walks of life and often in crisis.
I have a bespoke counselling room set up to welcome you. I have created it to be a warm, calm, relaxing and confidential safe space. I also offer sessions online or via telephone. Or if you like the outdoors and would prefer feeling the sun, wind or rain on your face, or sand beneath your toes, we can arrange to meet a local beach

Additional information
Choosing the right therapist for you is important and this first chat will give us an opportunity to get to know each other. You can ask me any questions you may have.
I will invite you to say something briefly about what has brought you to counselling and what you hope to get out of it, understanding that it might not be easy to talk about the things that really matter straight away.
Together we can decide if what I offer might be suitable for you. There is NO obligation to continue if things don't feel right, but if we do, we can look to arrange a first session soon.
