About me

My name is Jessie Jones. I am a qualified BACP trained Counsellor and I run Life and Soul, an online and telephone counselling service.  I am trained in person centred, integrative counselling.

My life has been wonderfully varied. Along the way, I learned a lot about life, people, and the struggles we all endure. Most importantly, I discovered how much I value connecting with fellow human beings from all walks of life and different perspectives. Through my personal journey, with its inevitable ups and downs, I realised years ago that my passion lay in supporting others to navigate through difficult and turbulent times in their lives. Reflecting on my personal experiences, I've come to understand the profound difference it makes to have someone to simply listen and share my troubles with. This insight drives my commitment to providing compassionate support to others.

When working with me,  you won't find judgement, or opinions or advice on what you should be doing.  What you will find is someone who is down to earth and authentic. I will really listen, and stay with you where you need to be.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

I offer a 20 minutes call - online or on the phone.

You can ask me any questions you may have, and I will likely ask you what you would like to get out of having counselling, what brought you to this call, and if you have had counselling before. It's a good way of getting a feel of each other and for you to decide if you want to work with me and for me to let you know if I am a good option for your needs.

If you want to work with me and you have a low income this can be discussed. Please let me know during the call. *These spaces are limited*

Further information

As a counsellor, I am passionate about working with neurodivergent individuals, including those with, or suspect they have, ADHD, as I believe in the importance of providing tailored support that honours the unique experiences and strengths of each person. Drawing from my own lived experience with ADHD, I strive to create a safe and understanding space where clients feel empowered to explore their challenges and embrace their individuality. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and rooted in the belief that everyone deserves access to personalised and affirming mental health care. As part of my commitment to personalised care, I encourage clients to explore various ways of engaging in our sessions that best suit their needs and preferences. For example, some individuals may find it helpful to occupy their hands during a session by doodling, drawing, crocheting, or knitting etc. This can create a more comfortable and relaxed environment, allowing for a deeper sense of connection and openness. My goal is to support each client in finding strategies that work best for them as they navigate their therapeutic journey.
