About me
I am a registered and accredited with the BACP and have 25 years experience working and training as an integrative counsellor/psychotherapist. I am passionate about working with people from all walks of life and a great believer that if we are provided with the appropriate level of support, resources and environment we can discover our potential and aspects of ourselves that assist healing, recovery and our journey through life.
My professional training certifies me to work with adults, face2face, online, via the phone and in groups settings to assist individuals to find their sense of self and direction in life, work through challenging life transitions, understand and better manage emotions and thoughts, find personal balance in the midst of career/parenting/relationships and studies.
My approach is Integrative, which enables me to use different styles to fit around each persons unique self and situation. I am open to working with past, present and future concerns or aims, either, short term on specific issues or long term for those wishing for more in-depth therapy, overcome emotional, psychological and somatic barriers to live full and authentic lives.
The main areas that I specialise in are issues around family/relationship difficulties, communication breakdowns, anxiety and panic attacks, depression, stress and anger, trauma, self esteem and confidence. As well as practicing privately with individuals, I also run support groups, wellbeing and psychoeducational trauma workshops for the statutory sector and organisations..
As a Registered and Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, I adhere to their code of ethics and guidelines to ensure a high standard of practice.
Life can throw many things our way, causing us to feel overwhelmed, stuck in a rut, disconnected or guarded at times. Our life experiences may add some uncertainty to the way we feel about ourselves, others and the world we live in, taking a toll on our emotional, psychological and general well-being.
Depending on what you want from counselling, I aim to provide you with a private and supportive space where you can touch base and explore safely what is going on for you, I will honour and be respectful of what you share with me and be supportive as well as actively engage with you throughout our time together.
As no one size fits all, I will respect your experiences as unique to yourself, I will not judge or have a pre-fixed agenda. I may draw upon specific styles that best suit your situation and the area that you feel needs attention. Theoretical approaches that may be used are: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Person Centred, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, Psychodynamic, Mindfulness and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, my approach are not limited to these theories.
Throughout my professional journey I have been fortunate enough to have worked with a wide range of issues with individuals from all walks of life, diverse cultural, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds which I have come to appreciate the unique qualities of each person and their experiences.
If you have any further questions about the way in which I work or would like to book an appointment , please do not hesitate to contact me, I aim to respond to you within 24 hours. Please note that I do not answer my phone after 7pm in the evenings or on weekends and it may take longer for me to get back to you during these times.

Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
