Supervision details
“Supervision can be an important part of taking care of oneself, staying open to new learning, and an indispensable part of the individual’s ongoing self-development, self-awareness and commitment to learning" Hawkins and Shohet (1989).
I offer trainee and experienced therapists working within the mental health field, a private, collaborate and protective space for the delivery of clinical supervision. My supervisory stance is integrative, relational and reflective to enhance self awareness, personal growth and professional development as you navigate through the challenges and complexities of your work.
I have 27 years experience working and training as a counsellor/psychotherapist/supervisor with individuals and in group settings. I am registered and accredited by the BACP and also extended my knowledge in clinical supervision through post graduate training. I work in private practice, with EAP's, social services and charity organisations and also offer supervision in-practice, online and nature orientated.
As the relationship is an important part of therapeutic practice, I believe that the supervisory relationship is no exception. I will aim to work respectfully and collaboratively with you and your situation and be warm and compassionate in my approach.
My Integrative approach and post graduate training in clinical supervision enables me to draw upon various supervision models (psychotherapy based, developmental and social) to fit within your personal style, professional needs and settings, such as: Humanistic, Psychodynamic perspectives, Integrated Developmental Model (Stoltenberg & Delworth, 1987) Hawkins and Shohet (2012) Seven Eyed Supervisor and the Feminist Model (Brown, 2016) with a focus on embracing equality, diversity and unwinding the dynamics of oppression.
During my professional journey, I have been fortunate enough to have worked with adults, individually and in group settings, who have struggled with their mental health, traumatic experiences, disability, victims of abuse and have extensive training and knowledge in trauma, body therapy, neuroscience, ecotherapy, group work that can be tailored in support of you and your practice.
Supervision can be either on one to one or in small groups; in-person practice, via phone, online or in my earth based practice or alternatively, can be arranged within your organisation. Fees are £60 for 1 hour sessions or £90 for 90 minutes individual supervision.
In-practice and nature based are £70 for 1 hour supervision sessions. I offer a reduced fee for trainee therapists in full time education or on low incomes. Please contact me for online or nature orientated peer or group supervision. If you have any further questions about the supervisory process or how I can be of support to you, please do not hesitate to contact me.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
