About me

"It's often in the darkest skies we see the brightest stars" (anon)

Life in this current climate can be testing and difficult whether from bereavements, money worries, relationship breakdowns, demanding expectations or past traumas. Sometimes we can push through but other times we need a helping hand...

My name is Hannah and I am qualified as a pluralistic psychotherapist. I have experience in counselling over a wide range of issues from domestic abuse, sexual assault, loneliness, isolation, anxiety, stress, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, PTSD and much more. My hope is to support each individual I work with on their personal journey to comfortably reach their desired outcome.

There is no pressure or expectation on you. Each session will be tailored to meet your needs and wants whether that be a slow gentle pace or a more challenging questioning approach. I follow the principle that counselling is not a one size fits all approach but it can be adapted and differentiated to suit you.

Over my working career, I have supported many young people and their families both in counselling and other professional roles being an advocate for positive change.  Life can sometimes be chaotic or full of worries. My aim is to provide a safe space for each person to bring what they need and to explore their thoughts, feelings and behaviours gaining a better understanding of themselves. I will actively listen with compassion and empathy to your hardships and problems.

I currently offer online working via Teams, Zoom or telephone. Additionally, I am able to offer a local walk and talk in specific areas to CF39 (please call for more details). Additionally, please feel free to book in your free 15 minute initial call to introduce yourself and get to know me.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
