About me

Hi! My name is Liz Heald and welcome to your healing journey.

I am a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor and CBT & DBT Practitioner based on the Wirral, UK. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and an individual member of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies.

I currently offer face-to-face short-term or long-term therapy to aid an individual to better their life. I also offer remote sessions via video call or telephone.

As my surname perfectly encapsulates, I have a passion for helping others on their healing journey to find inner peace, by working with clients to explore their issues in an empathic, non-judgemental and impartial way. My core model is Person Centred Counselling, which is exactly what it says on the tin; each person’s journey is individual and my working approach is tailored to each individual Client and their needs – no matter what these may be. I am also further trained with a Level 5 Diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and a Level 3 Diploma in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy allowing for further adaptations to my approach for every client.

I have a varied professional and education background with studying a BA Social Sciences degree in Philosophy and Criminology, I have had the privilege of studying other areas of the Social Sciences world such as Psychology, Sociology, Social Anthropology and more. I have experience working within the legal industry, the healthcare industry and even volunteering in Schools and working with young people and adolescents meaning that I have been able to view the world through many walks of life.

During my Counselling career, I have volunteered with various agencies including AGEUK, WIRED Carer’s Support and Caritas Diocese of Shrewsbury. I have also worked within an EAP role supporting employers, whilst also running my private practice. As a result of all of this experience, I have worked with and deal with many issues including (but not limited to) exploring anxiety, depression, workplace stress, bereavement and loss, self-esteem and identity issues, family and relationship troubles, health anxiety and much more.

As with most people, I have had my own battles in life and have come through these with the help of Psychotherapy.

Each session is tailored to you and I offer a safe and confidential space for you to make the steps you need to enhance your mental wellbeing and in turn, make changes in your life.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
