About me

Counselling is a private, one-to-one space for you to explore your feelings, identity, or relationships with others by working with a professional third party. As your counsellor, I will be non-judgmental, patient, and with you every step of the way along your journey.

Counselling can be particularly helpful if:

- You've discovered something about yourself that you'd like help exploring or understanding
- You're feeling lost and want a place to find your way, your passions, or yourself
- Things in your life are making you feel anxious, overwhelmed, or sad
- You feel constantly worried about the past or future and don't know how to relax or be in the present

No matter your difficulty, I want to understand your experience, and support you with what you're going through. I specialise in clients who are exploring a mental health or neurodiversity diagnosis, including autism and ADHD; clients experiencing or having experienced abuse;  or clients struggling with past or current trauma (including aspects relating to gender or sexuality). Your journey and beliefs matter to me, and I would like to support you to find a way forward through our therapeutic relationship.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Diploma in Person-Centred and Psychodynamic counselling. I've also worked for 10 years in various roles within the mental health sector, with an MSc in Clinical Psychology and an SVQ3 in Social Care. I've worked with people experiencing severe and chronic mental illness, but I've also worked with people who are just looking for a bit of support to get through a difficult time. I've had experience in providing both long-term and short-term counselling, so whatever you need, we can figure out together. I've also had experience in both online or in-person counselling, and offer both.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
