Davina Stockdale

Hello my name is Davina and I am a qualified Person-Centred counsellor based in Leeds and a registered member of NCPS, I offer weekly and fortnightly online and telephone sessions. 

I offer a professional service that offers a safe space that is non-judgemental. I have gained ample experience in working with a diverse range of clients. I work from a place genuineness, warmth and understanding offering you the space to work through things at your own pace with my support. I currently have availability for online and telephone sessions, I offer a free 20 minute introductory chat online, or on the phone to see if I am the right counsellor for you. 

I believe that counselling is the best gift we can give our selves, and when we feel ready to take that step to explore all that life's experiences and lessons have given us in counselling environment, then this can be the beginning of a journey of self discovery, healing and acceptance. It's not always easy on the journey of counselling but achievable to have a better understanding for who we are and what has happened to us, and why we navigate through life the way we do, with the right counsellor supporting you on this journey. 

Having studied the Person-Centred approach for years, I resonated with the approach and the core conditions of the approach. I am passionate about creating safe space that is non-judgemental along with a counsellor client work relationship that is based on a natural way of building a good and trusting work relationship in a humanistic way and seeing the person who is sat in front of me for all that they are and more without judgement. 

I have covered a wide variety of issues people are facing in the present and from the past, both as a counsellor and within my job role e.g depression, anxiety, addiction, self harm, domestic violence, low self esteem, grief, trauma, social anxiety, isolation, relationship issues, hearing voices and abuse.

I am warm, compassionate and calm, clients have told me that they have felt comfortable enough to share things with me that they have not disclosed to anyone else. I have felt extremely honoured to have gained their trust in the disclosing extremely personal information.  

I have used Somatic body movement over the years along with well-being techniques that have been beneficial in improving stress and anxiety. I have offered these techniques to clients and they have been extremely useful for them in alleviating stress and anxiety. 

I see clients remotely across the UK, by video chat and on the telephone along with walk and talk sessions within Leeds 

If £40 per session is likely to be difficult for you, I am happy to discuss your situation and what you can afford. 

I regard my self of been knowledgeable of self care strategies and Somatic body movements and breath work that help relive stress and anxiety.  These techniques have proven useful to a variety of clients I work with.
