About me

Hello, my name is Claire and I am a BACP registered and NCS Accredited integrative counsellor.  I work with adults, children and young people, couples and families.

I provide an empathic, genuine, non-judgemental, safe space for you to have the freedom to talk and explore your thoughts and feelings where you are really heard.  I strongly believe in forming a therapeutic relationship that will enable you to feel more empowered as well as building hope.

Alongside my private practice, I have been volunteering as a counsellor with a family charity for a number of years and have a particular interest in parenting and families and the challenges that this can bring.  I also work as a counsellor working with primary school children and teenagers.

I have worked with clients with many different issues including anxiety, depression, grief, childhood trauma, illness, relationship problems and abuse.

I offer face to face or online sessions from my private and peaceful therapy room near Witham and Maldon, as well as walk and talk therapy.

Whilst there is so much more open dialogue about our mental health, one area that we still have more work to do is in regards to therapy being preventative. Far too often, we wait until we are in crisis before seeking help.  Sometimes we need help with major life decisions and it can be beneficial to talk these through beforehand.  If you are about to embark on a major life change or decision, such as marriage, parenthood, divorce, career change or any other stressful situation, getting help to navigate this can be empowering.

If you would like to have an initial free 15 minute chat to find out more about how we could work together, please send me an email or text and I will get back to you.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
