About me

I am a qualified and experienced integrative therapeutic counsellor who offers solution focussed short-term, and long-term therapy for adults, aged 18 and above.

My approach to counselling and psychotherapy is rooted in compassion and empathy for you as a unique individual. I work with a wide range of issues that may be impacting your life and how you feel about yourself. This could be a life event that is too big or painful to face alone; or maybe you can’t explain the low mood, anxiety, or racing thoughts you are experiencing and want to work towards deeper understanding and self-awareness.

I blend a range of theoretical modalities to create a holistic personalised therapeutic framework to help bring about change and deeper self-awareness.

I am committed to creating a confidential and private therapeutic counselling environment. This is either in person from my private practice in Finchley, North London.  Alternately I offer face-to-face nationwide online counselling from the comfort of your own home.

I adhere to the ethical framework of the BACP and hold a full Enhanced DBS check.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have completed extensive training in counselling and have a range of qualifications which includes a BACP approved Diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling.

I have completed continued professional development training in a range of areas including bereavement, anxiety, trauma, self-harm, eating disorders, homelessness, substance misuse, mindfulness, and working with children.

In addition to my private practice, I work as a Palliative Care and Bereavement Counsellor in a Hospice. I have a wide range of experience working with adults in a range of settings including a Homeless Shelter, Bereavement Agency, Psychotherapy Agency, and with young people as a counsellor in a large Secondary School.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
