About me
I am a chartered counselling psychologist. Within my therapeutic practice, I aim to offer a space that is non-judgemental, compassionate and warm, holding in mind that the therapeutic relationship is an important factor in supporting people to make meaningful changes.
You may be exploring gender or sexuality, navigating non-monogamous relationships, or making sense of life as an autistic person or someone with ADHD, or other neurodiversity. Many clients come to me after feeling misunderstood or having to explain their identity or relationship style elsewhere. I offer an affirming, non-judgemental space where your experiences are taken seriously and where we can explore what’s going on for you at your own pace.
I take an integrative approach and I am trained in various models of therapy including Person-Centred, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). When working with clients I aim to foster a relationship whereby we are both active participants in the process. This means that I am interested to hear about your preferences for therapy so that we can collaboratively decide on a treatment plan that addresses your specific needs.
I have significant experience of working with anxiety, depression, shame, low self-esteem, trauma/PTSD, panic attacks, OCD and relationship difficulties. I offer kink aware therapy. I am also interested in intersectionality and considering the context and potential impact of having multiple marginalised identities on your experiences and mental health.
People often come to me for support with:
navigating non-monogamous or polyamorous relationships
exploring gender or sexuality
autistic/ADHD burnout or masking
relationship communication
identity and self-acceptance
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology from London Metropolitan University.
I am a counselling psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)* and chartered by the British Psychological Society.
I have further specialist training and experience of working therapeutically with gender identity and diversity, and worked for 3+ years in a gender identity clinic, meaning that I am familiar with specialist treatment pathways for people who are looking to transition medically.
*'Counselling psychologist' is a protected title meaning that you can only legally use it if you have met specific requirements to register with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

Further information
I work affirmatively with LGBTQIA+ people, even if this is not what you wish to discuss in therapy but would like a safe practitioner with whom to discuss other areas of your life.
I have expertise in working with gender identity, sexual orientation and non monogamies.
I have awareness and experience of working with neurodiversity, including autism and ADHD, and will work with you to co-create a safer space, discussing any reasonable adjustments that you may need in order for therapy to be safer and more accessible.
I am mindful to explore and understand the ways in which a person's culture, ethnicity, religion, race, ability, socioeconomic status and relationship status might play a role in their psychological well being, especially when they have faced prejudice, stigma and/or discrimination.
I work collaboratively with clients to help them to understand themselves on a deeper level to activate change and facilitate growth.
I specialise in gender, sexuality and relationship diversity, anxiety, depression, shame, low self-esteem, trauma/PTSD, panic attacks, OCD and relationship difficulties.
