About me

Regardless of our pasts or where we find ourselves now, we all have the potential to change, develop and have personal growth. It’s my innate belief that we ourselves know what is best for us, sometimes finding our inner voice isn’t that simple though, especially if we feel it’s lost or seemingly far beyond reach.

It can be hard to open up and speak to someone about what’s going on, but be assured whatever your reason for making this first step and seeking therapy, with me as your Counsellor I can offer you a safe space free of judgement in which we can explore what issues arise for you.

When working together, you are at the centre of this process and I am beside you, assisting in helping you develop the skills necessary to not only manage what arises within the therapeutic space together but for overall well-being in your life. My job isn’t to fix or tell you what to do, I'm here to help you uncover what affects your everyday thoughts for a deeper insight and understanding.

Listening is the foundation of my counselling approach and with me, your lived experiencing and autonomy will be respected and welcomed in the therapeutic relationship we will build.

I offer talking therapy from a Humanistic perspective and also sandplay therapy. Using the sand and figures within the sand tray is a powerful therapeutic approach to express not only understanding of self, but the world, emotions and life events - anything can show up within the sand tray for you and we can explore this together. Both my pluralistic and humanistic approach allows me to integrate varied therapeutic modalities when working which ensures therapy is tailored to suit each individual’s unique needs.

As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, you can be confident of my commitment to work ethically.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Pluralistic Person-Centred Counselling as an Advanced Practitioner and a Diploma in Jungian Theory and Practice.

I am also currently working towards my Certification in Creative Sandplay/Sand Tray Therapy.

I have experience of working both long-term and short-term with clients at low cost counselling services, through volunteer work and currently within an NHS GP Surgery.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
