Anna Davis Registered MBACP Spirals Counselling Service
It can be incredibly helpful talk to someone who is professionally trained, who can listen and support you through the process of untangling and resolving issues which are hard to fully move beyond on our own.
I have eight years experience as a counsellor and appreciate that there are times in life
that may feel stressful or overwhelming , we may struggle with anxiety or depression, feel confused, fearful, angry, grieving or stuck.
I am warm and easy to talk to, perceptive and non judgemental. My training is in Person Centered counselling which means that I create a safe and confidential space in which you can talk about whatever is troubling you, at your own pace.
My role is to listen closely with genuine respect and empathy and to reflect back insights and observations. I am non directive and do my best not to advise. From my experience as a counsellor, I know that through the process of talking and being heard, there is the potential to feel clearer and more empowered to find solutions that are right for you.
Through this authentic therapeutic relationship we work together to unravel and resolve, heal and transform difficult feelings with the aim of getting you back on track, feeling a greater sense of well being and confidence to move forwards.
It can take real courage to seek out a counsellor, and it can be very helpful to talk to someone professional and objective who is not a close friend or family member.
Everyone is unique and I respect that we each have different ways of communicating. The majority of sessions involve talking together, though I may at times incorporate other therapeutic approaches such as Mindfulness or creativity if appropriate
As well as working as a counsellor for the past eight years, I have 27 years experience as a Tai chi teacher, I am an artist and a parent. I am practical in my approach and also have a wealth of meditation experience so am also comfortable to explore spiritual or religious matters.
" I found (Anna 's) approach to be gentle and empathic and at the same time she challenged me to consider the areas that I needed to. Together we unravelled difficulties that I had faced in the past and considered them in the present and the future, a process that I found incredibly helpful and which also encouraged me to move forward as well as to face up to past issues. The counsellor was always reliable and flexible with timing the sessions and provided a safe and comfortable environment in which to explore some challenging issues. I would recommend Spirals Counselling Service to anyone wanting to move forward in their emotional thinking at a gentle and appropriate pace."
