About me

What is counselling?
I'm a Person-Centred Holistic Counsellor which means I'm someone who really cares when it can feel like nobody is out there.

Counselling is valuable to everyone looking to find a way to heal through the challenges and pain that life throws and I am ready to shoulder that with you, whatever your story has been so far. Through meeting regularly, talking and exploring at depth and accessing those experiences, counselling works by lightening the load. We are all made up of mind, body, spirit and soul and so I work with each of these in our counselling sessions, following your lead and guiding you through the process of healing.

How can it help?
Whether you're dealing with anxiety symptoms, low self-esteem, a feeling of depression, an uneasy feeling about your path in life or healing from a traumatic painful experience such as a loss, I can help you to explore your past, unearth the root cause of your suffering, and process it safely at your pace. Nobody's experience is the same and I am here to work with you as an individual, without comparison or expectation.

How does it work?
Most commonly, counselling takes place for one hour weekly. This can take place in-person at one of my working locations or online, via zoom or teams meaning I am able to work with clients from accross the UK.

I currently have limited availability in the early evening or some afternoons with one slot remaining on Saturday mornings.

In our work together I hope you can begin to:
1. Deeply explore the mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of your life so far to create an understanding of and connection to your authentic self.
2. Develop, empower and trust your intuition as the most important tool for personal growth, creating coping skills and decision-making. You are the expert in your life!
3. Begin to discover your life purpose and the joy that comes with it, providing clarity and direction in your onward journey.

What next?
If counselling sounds like something you would like to talk more about, contact me via phone or email to chat it through some more. Since I recognise it can often feel like a big step and might feel uncomfortable or awkward to dive straight in, I offer a free, no obligation 20 minute phone call prior to our first session so that we can get to know one another a little bit.

I wish you a safe and healing onward journey whether or not I am the right counsellor for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Qualified Person-Centred Integrative and Spiritually Orientated Counsellor having undertaken an advanced Level 5 Diploma at Network Counselling and Training in Bristol. I am a registered member of the BACP (MBACP) keeping up to date with the newest techniques to support my clients.

I have worked with a vast variation of clients working through anxiety, depression, trauma, sadness, loneliness, hopelessness and all sorts of experiences. In my experience, the human experience can be an extremely difficult one and we all need someone to lean on. I welcome each person and their individual story into the counselling room completely.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
